Amelia finds success with Barclays
Back in February financial group Barclays were invited to the college to promote their Higher Apprenticeship scheme. The programme includes the opportunity to work in various areas of the financial group including leadership and management, internal audit and group finance.
Amelia Williams, a second year student applied for a position with the company and was successful offered a place on the programme.
Over the two years Amelia studied Biology, Business and Economics. As part of her enrichment course she became a business mentor, and took the Extended Certificate in Financial Studies in her second year.
There’s no doubt that Amelia’s A level programme, her enrichment choice and additional qualification in financial studies made her application stand out to the companies interview panel.
Higher apprenticeships are a great alternative to university, offering qualifications up to degree level and the opportunity to earn while you learn. There is also the added bonus of no tuition fees.
The Higher Apprenticeship schemes are avaliable in a number of sectors such as Business, Construction and Engineering and Health.
