Business students support local charities
WQE students used entrepreneurial skills learnt in Level 3 BTEC Business Studies, to fundraise for local causes.
The fundraising formed part of their vocational business unit where students had to organise and manage events for charity or profit. The unit was designed to help them develop essential skills required for a career in event management.
Throughout the spring term, students hosted bake sales and social events to fundraise for their chosen charities.
Ahmad Noor, Assistant Curriculum Area Leader for Business Studies at WQE, said: “This has been a very interesting unit, as students had different of ideas for events that they wanted to run. It’s been great to see them working together, especially when fundraising, in order to make their events a success. Well done to all.”
