Christmas Jumper Day

Staff and students from University Road campus supported Christmas Jumper Day by raising money for The Y Charity in Leicester.

The Y is the leading youth homelessness charity for Leicester and Leicestershire. As the local YMCA they also provide other community services including a drop in centre for homeless adults, working with disabilities, their vibrant theatre, sports and arts. The charity are a diverse organisation with over 130 years history in the city, adapting our services and our approach to the needs of our local communities.

Students who wore Christmas Jumpers donated money which will be to support the cause and were rewarded with half-price Starbucks for their efforts. The money donated will be used to purchase essentials to help the charity throughout the winter months.

Our staff and students enjoyed dressing up whilst raising awareness for a great cause, our winner Emily Cosgrove (pictured below) won a £10 Highcross Voucher for her elf costume.

The Student Executive team collected eight boxes worth warm clothing, food and toiletries which they delivered to the charity on Friday 20 December.
