Entrepreneurs of the Future
The 8 WQE students who chose to enter this Leicestershire wide competition put in at least 15 hours of their time to decide and prepare a business plan for a tech start up business. After plenty of creative thinking, the budding entrepreneurs decided on the idea of developing, producing, marketing and distributing a steamer for use in the kitchen, targeting the disabled market. The steamer would enable healthy food to be prepared in a high tech way, where recipes can be followed using a DVD-based, interactive, step by step approach.
The entrepreneurs worked together with their own specialist roles such as creative thinkers; attention to detail; team workers; resource investigators; evaluators of ideas under the watchful guidance of the leader, Mohammed Sheikh.
Their efforts paid off when they found they had been awarded third place out of 12 entrants and a well-deserved prize of £500.
