It’s the start of a successful journey for former student Sam Evans who’s signed a three year contract with Leicestershire County Cricket club in addition to playing for Loughborough University.
The 19 year old from Knighton, Leicester played his first match for the university club in March and recently scored 114 innings in Loughborough’s match against Northamptonshire.
From a young age Sam has been passionate about the sport and joined his first club Leicester Forest East when he was 15 years old. He also took Cricket as an enrichment course at the college whilst playing in the Leicestershire CCC academy. After leaving WQE Sam decided to continue his education at Loughborough University studying Geography.
Sam has worked hard to take his long term ambition to play for Leicestershire and in April 2017 he landed a full time contract with the club.
He’ll be playing for Loughborough MCCU for the first half of the season followed by playing for Leicestershire County until the end of September.
