Sport students officiate regional dodgeball tournament

Sport students at WQE officiated the East Midlands Regional Primary School Championship dodgeball tournament.

Hosted by national governing body England Dodgeball, the event took place at the College’s Sports Hall at University Road on 5th March. Ten school teams from throughout the East Midlands competed against each other, while WQE students helped with running the event.

Molly Smith and Simran Dhuna who were part of the officiating team, said: “We had a fantastic day! The school dodgeball teams were very enthusiastic and put all their energy into each game. We were very proud to see every student play with so much sportsmanship and respect for each other, well done to everyone. The event was a good experience all round so thank you to the schools, teachers and referees for your participation.’’

The Belmont Beasts team from Christ the King Catholic School in Leicester won the tournament, scooping the sportsmanship trophy for the day.

Well done to all who took part and to our officiators who did a great job in representing the College.
