In this context we are looking to appoint an appropriately qualified individual to guide, support and co-ordinate the operations of the College Corporation. The Clerk will play a central role in ensuring that the Corporation operates efficiently and within its powers. In particular, the Clerk to the Corporation will need to work closely with the Chair of Corporation and the Principal/Chief Executive, as well as Committee Chairs, the Deputy Chair of Corporation, Individual Governors and Executive Team Members.
The individual appointed will have experience of interpreting and working within regulatory frameworks and taking a lead advisory role. Well-developed IT, research and report-writing skills are required together with high-level communication skills and the ability to establish effective relationships and provide appropriate support to the Corporation and individual Governors.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate highly effective organisational, administrative and managerial skills, will be self-motivated, thrive on deadlines and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds. Previous experience of working at a senior level, with corporate governance structures/boards is essential.
Due to the nature of this role your working pattern may vary from time to time to meet the requirements of the job including working in the evenings and attending Corporation meetings that may take place outside of normal working hours.
This is a permanent, part-time, all year-round position, working an average of 18.5 hours per week (795 hours per year), though these shall be worked flexibility to ensure the proper performance of the duties. The role commences in September 2020. The salary will be on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff pay scale 46-49 which ranges from £37,571 to £40,316 per annum pro-rata (Pay Award Pending). The actual starting salary for this post is £18,785 per annum (Pay Award Pending). A defined benefit pension scheme is also offered as part of the remuneration package for this appointment.
